Ok, so first up for my ADHD hacks for cleaning is to NEVER take one garbage. It’s also important to eat every 3-4 hours to fuel your body, even if your ADHD medication has reduced your appetite. For example, eating lean protein will give your neurotransmitters a boost. Half the time, I'm already awake before it goes off because the meds have already begun to kick in. Changing your healthy habits can improve some of your ADHD symptoms and keep your brain functioning better. I get up, take my prescribed stimulants, drink a glass of water, open all my blinds to let the sun in, and go back to bed. I set two alarms on a VERY LOUD digital alarm clock with a battery backup, which I keep across the room from my bed. Say I need to be awake and functional(ish) at 8 a.m. It also gets me up for work, brunch, and feeding my cat at a reasonable hour. List all the things you need to do, then pick out the ones you need to do first. This hack got me through the second half of college after I returned from my ADHD-induced medical leave. ![]()
